Forgive and Forget: Cliches

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Forgive and Forget?.”

To forgive and forget is a trite and easy-to-mouth cliche.

It’s hard to forgive, even harder to talk about it and certainly hardest to forget.

To be truthful, it’s best to forgive for your own sake, then walk away but remember never to forget. Who knows if he or she will perpetrate and/or perpetuate it once more on you?

Do you have the grace to give someone a second chance or a third or more? That’s trust, that’s belief, that’s grace. Now, that’s a thought!
