You’ve just been named the casting director of your favorite television show (or movie franchise). The catch: you must replace the entire cast — with your friends and family. Who gets which role?

When I first glanced at the prompt, I felt that I would not have much to write about except list my favourite sitcoms that feature friends and family.

Those are as follows:

• Everybody Loves Raymond
• Modern Family
• Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi (Hindi) and

• Dekh Bhai Dekh (Hindi).

I decided to cheat a little for inspiration and had a peek at what the others responded with.

Tom Balistreri, in his inimitable style, summed up my reaction in his poem, “No Show.”

ReallyJustWords cast herself and her husband as Debra and Raymond in her entertaining post.

Soul n Spirit says that television is not meant for her and hence neither the prompt.

And Life is Great loves Criminal Minds but believes casting her friends and family in starring roles would be an unmitigated disaster.
