“Spread love everywhere you go: first of all in your own house. Give love to your children, to your wife or husband, to a next door neighbor… Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God‘s kindness; kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile, kindness in your warm greeting.” -Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta
“Blessed is he who speaks a kindness thrice blessed is he who repeats it.”
I have learnt silence from the talkative, toleration from the intolerant, and kindness from the unkind; yet strange, I am ungrateful to these teachers. -Khalil Gibran, mystic, poet, and artist (1883-1931)
One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that was going on inside himself. He said, “My son, it is between two wolves. One is evil: anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity,guilt,resentment,inferiority,lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is good: joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather,”Which wolf wins?” The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one I feed.”

"I expect to pass through life but once. If therefore, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again." ~William Penn, quoted in "Older & Wiser"
