India

Ever wondered whom to turn to for those little, niggling, minor complaints or irritants that others tell you are nothing or just to live with it?

After all, that’s life in India. Chalta hai, everything goes!

Well, if you have an internet connection and the time, Complaints India might just be the place for you.

The web-site address is : http://www.complaints-india.com

All you need to do is fill out a form and your grievance will be published on the site.

If you take the trouble to locate the offending party’s e-mail address, your plaint will be forwarded to the (un)concerned party.

If not, the good guys at Complaints India will try and  locate the appropriate address from their database.

The site works on the premise that firms do not want the adverse publicity generated regards  their products and/or services.

Good luck complaining!

Tennis Bytes: Somdev rises to 94, a shorter ATP tour?

DELHI, INDIA - OCTOBER 10: Gold medal winner Devvarman Somdev of India kisses his medal after defeating Greg Jones of Australia at RK Khanna Tennis Stadium during day seven of the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games on October 10, 2010 in Delhi, India. (Photo by Daniel Berehulak/Getty Images)

Somdev is hitting his stride and new heights on the ATP tour.

His ranking has risen to 94, his best ever on the ATP tour.

Somdev has been hovering in and out of the top 100 for the past few  months.

A ranking within the top 100 will ensure automatic entry into the majors allowing him to skip the grind of qualifying rounds.

Devvarman recently clinched the men’s singles gold at the CommonWealth Games in New Delhi, justifying his top seeding.

Saina, Video Technology and Ultra Marathons

Playing ball with numbersJAKARTA, June 27, 2010 Saina Nehwal of India returns the shuttlecock to Japan's Sayaka Sato during the women's singles final at the 2010 Indonesia Open Super Series 2010 badminton tournament in Jakarta, Indonesia, on June 27, 2010. Nehwal claimed the title of the event after defeating Sayaka Sato 2-1.

Saina Nehwal completed a treble of wins last Sunday at the Indonesian Open. It was her 3rd consecutive tournament triumph ,an unbroken streak of 15 games without a loss. Saina is in the best form of her life and her ranking is now a stratospheric No. 3. The Indonesian Open ,though, lacked serious competition from the Chinese who preferred to compete in their local league. The Chinese are notorious for lying low  before any major tournaments such as the World championship that is scheduled in the near future. They prefer to scout their opponents and exploit any detected weaknesses and in the meanwhile identify , groom and train their  future stars. The Chinese depth in badminton and table-tennis is to be envied and emulated. Will Saina be able to carry her form into the world championship? Will the Chinese spring a surprise package , as they have been known to do before, and unveil a new star on the badminton horizon? Who knows? Only time will tell! But congratulations to Saina and good luck to her! Her star still shines bright in the barren sky of Indian sport.
